Day after D-Day

Yesterday was D-Day for the Devonport craft market.

The day started off very slow, wet and cold. We had our stall outside and I don't think many of the people that came to the markets even knew we were there because we were around the side of the building.

Sales were going very slow with only a couple of booties being sold by the other ladies.

We managed to sweet talk our way into moving our stall into the hall where it was nice and warm. The other ladies make a few more sales but unfortunately no one seemed very interested in what i had to sell. I did however sell one of my fairy dresses after the market.

Briannah Sold 3 of her book marks which made her happy as this meant she could get her face painted and buy a heart shaped biscuit.

Overall it was a little disappointing but it was a great learning curve. I don't think I will be making much more baby hats as there were already about 5 stalls selling them at that market.

Time to get my thinking cap on and come up with some new ideas i think.

Facebook Page

Today I set up a Facebook page for my Blog.
You can view it here

There is also a badge to the right of my blog which you can click on to go to the facebook page.

Well it looks like the weather is going to be horrible on Sunday for the market. We have decided to go anyway and hopefully there will be some cancellations and we can go inside.

Labels On, Ready For The Market - Maybe

I have just seen the weather forecast for Sunday - market day. RAIN, RAIN, and more RAIN.

Emma has emailed the organisers of the market and we are awaiting their reply. The site we have booked is an outdoor site so won't be suitable for the bubbas if its raining. Hopefully there are some cancellations and they feel sorry for us and put us inside - wishful thinking huh.

Went Shopping Today

Well I went shopping today, I got a few new balls of wool to add to my collection from Spotlight.
I got Bright pink, Red, Orange and Blue.

I also made a trip to Dave's Emporium in Manukau and got a few things to finish making a couple of nappy cakes, I will also take these to the market on Sunday. If they prove to be popular I will make more for next time.

Off to the markets

After trying unsuccessfully to sell some of my hats on trade me i decided to investigate the local craft markets.

Emma from Lil Monsters and I decided that we would contact the Devonport craft market and we have been given a spot outside for this Sundays market, yaaaaay.

I am both excited and scared at the prospect of this but I'm not going to get anywhere sitting at home am I.

Here are some of the things I have created for the market.
Purple fairy dress made with baby yarn and bridal tulle with purple sparkles.
I have also made these with blue baby yarn and pale blue tulle
One of the headbands I made, Have also made one with a Bow

Necklace with white flower

More Hats and Shoes

Since the other hat didn't fit my baby i thought i had better give it another go. I found this really cute hat pattern with ear flaps.

I made it with the same really soft baby yarn.

I had a request from an old friend who saw the hat with the flower in the above post and wanted one made for her little girl.

I tried to make some little baby shoes but because I didn't have a printer at the time i just traced off the computer screen and the shoes turned out a bit smaller than expected.

The outers are 100% cotton and they are lined with a soft fluffy fabric

First hats

The first hat I made turned out a bit small for a newborn baby so would probably fit a preemie baby instead. I used a mixture of blue polyester eyelash type yarn and plain white acrylic yarn.

Briannah Didn't want to be left out so I made her a pink and white hat. She even took it for class news the next day.

This hat is really soft, I used baby yarn. I wish it could fit me it feels so good.
This was also my first attempt of making a flower.

Welcome to my Blog

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I am Tania, the creator of Tania's Treasure Trunk.

As a stay at home mum to a lovely 6 year old girl and a 4 month old little boy, living out in the country I often found myself getting a little bored. This is when i decided to use my crafty nature to my advantage and make some stuff to keep me occupied and hopefully make a bit of pocket money at the same time.

I tried to learn crochet on the internet but found it very difficult but after a quick lesson from my mother in law i had it down and I was off on my crafty quest.

I look forward to updating you regularly with my new projects.
